Palau The Republic of Palau is located in the western Pacific Ocean, about 800km east of the Philippines.

Palau consists of over 200 islands. Koror, the capital, is on Koror Island, and there is a bridge connecting Koror Island and the largest island in Palau, Babeldaob Island. Palau had been the Japanese mandated territory until World War II; however, it gained its independence in 1994.
