Mt. Paektu is located on the border between D.P.R. Korea (North Korea) and China with 2,750 meters in height.
It is the highest mountain in Korea, and the name Paektu-san means "white-capped mountains" covered with white stone on the peak.
There is a beautiful lake Chon-ji on top of the mountain, which is formed in the crater made by the volcanic eruption.
This bird's-eye-view image is created by looking down from north to south (China to N. Korea).
