Mt. Nemrut (volcano),
Eastern Turkey
This is a bird view image of a volcano called Mt. Nemurt located on
the west side of Lake Van in the Eastern Turkey.
The volcano is named after the mythical King Nimrod who is said to have
ruled this area in ancient times.
Mt. Nemrut is the southernmost volcano of the volcanic chain running
from the Mt. Ararat in the easternmost part of Anatolia to the southwest.

In the eastern part of the caldera, a road running from Tatvan, Lake
Van's lakeside town can be seen.
