Phased Array type L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (PALSAR)
PALSAR project
Phased Array type L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (PALSAR) was jointly developed by METI and JAXA. PALSAR was onboard the ALOS satellite, launched in 2006 and operated until May, 2011. Japan Space Systems was involved in the project which includes the development of PALSAR instrument, the ground data system, and its applications. PALSAR products were distributed to uses from March 1, 2007 to November 19, 2014.
